There’s no rule that says you need to walk down the aisle to the strains of Pachelbel’s Canon. Many brides are setting aside the traditional tunes of their parents’ or older siblings’ ceremonies and looking for more contemporary tunes that are decidedly their own.
The trend these days is to choose music that speaks to you, no matter if it’s not exactly what your guests are expecting. If you’d like to incorporate new or lesser-known older songs into your ceremony or reception, go right ahead. Follow these tips, and you’ll be well on your way to music that’s as individual and unique as you are:
1. Don’t be overly concerned about tradition or choosing “appropriate” music. Have fun representing yourselves and your love in a memorable way.
2. To give your wedding a one-of-a-kind feel, be on the lookout for original songs by musicians or songwriters many people might not have heard of.
3. Instead of using Top 40 hits, consider songs from Broadway musicals or movies.
4. Love a certain musician, but wince at the thought of having his or her most famous tune in your wedding? Choose one of their more obscure songs instead.
Here are a few nontraditional songs to consider:
The Feather Theme (Main Theme) - Forrest Gump Soundtrack
Canon in F - The ONeill Brothers
You Are My Home - Scarlet Pimpernel Soundtrack
Born to Give My Love to You - Martina McBride
The Road That Never Ends - Jamie Lawrence
Inappropriate Wedding Ceremony Songs
You’ll want to confirm the list of ceremony prelude songs ahead of time to make sure no one plays “Send in the Clowns” when your future mother-in-law makes her way down the aisle. or maybe you don’t.
You might have a favorite song in mind for your wedding ceremony, but before you start printing the programs, you’ll want to give it a little more thought. Just because a tune features a sweeping melody or a chance for your soloist to really let loose, the lyrics might not be exactly appropriate for your big day. Here are a few songs to avoid:
My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from Titanic) - Celine Dion
This song is beautiful, but it’s about living on after someone you love died, not starting a life together. Also, the boat sank - that’s just bad karma.
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston
Perfect song, right? Wrong. Here are a few sample lyrics that explain why it might not be the most appropriate sentiment for a ceremony: “If I should stay, I would only be in your way. So I’ll go.” “Bittersweet. Memories. That is all I’m taking with me. So good-bye”, “We both know I’m not what you need”.
Every Breath You Take - The Police
This tune is more like a creepy stalker’s anthem than a love song.
Beauty and the Beast - Celine Dion/Peabo Bryson
This is also a beautiful love song, but it wouldn’t be polite to compare the groom to a “beast” during the ceremony.
Send in the Clowns - From the Broadway show “A Little Night Music”
This would be a big “no-no” during ANY portion of the prelude or processional. As beautiful as it is, you wouldn’t want it to be playing while your mother or future mother-in-law were being seated.

A road trip is something that every one of us must experience at least once in our life. A long car drive can be extremely fun as you can stop where ever you want to and reach your destination while enjoying the scenery. Long car rides can be incredible. But on the flip side, these kinds of journeys can also be terribly boring. Especially, if you are alone in the car or the landscape around you doesnt have much to offer.
Most people will agree that driving a car on a long lonely road where you dont see anything except a few other cars on the road and clouds in the sky, can take a toll on ones patience. But we have a perfect solution for this problem. Why not take an audio book with you?
An audio book adds an incredible twist to your journey by adding some romance, fiction, reality or comedy in it. This is an especially great option for people who love to read. Audio books can be extremely helpful in those long, lonely journeys when you dont have anyone to talk you.
But they are not just for the lonely travellers. Audio books are also a great time pass even if you are just a passenger. This is an excellent way to keep your sanity in place while sitting idle in the same seat of the car for hours. Everybody loves family road trips, but you would agree that the long journey to the place can be very tiresome. True, that everyone is very excited in the start of the trip but as the time goes by everyone starts getting on each others nerves. This is where an audio book is great help.
Every parent has been through this. The children get bored and then, one of them will start whining, the other one will hit someone and before you know it, a strong need for a referee arises inside the car. But instead of tackling all this, you can simply give your children their favourite book downloaded on an Ipod. This is incredibly helpful as most kids love to hear stories and will sit quietly if a soft and soothing voice is telling them their favourite story. These days almost all childrens books come in audio format and you can simply download them from the internet or buy a CD.
Audio books can also become a great family activity inside the car. You can play a book on the car stereo and listen to it with everyone else. This brings a sense of belonging in the family and I really recommend it. This is a great idea even if you have to spend your journey listening to a fairytale because this will show the children that you care about them.
No matter what age group or gender you belong to, audio books will make your car trip a thousand times easier. These days, obtaining a particular audio book is not difficult at all and they are available and very reasonable price also.

After creating all kinds of controversy (when frontman Fred Durst claimed he hooked up with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera) and causing the word “nookie” to become part of our everyday language (not that anyone really knows what it means) in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Limp Bizkit seemingly vanished from the music scene, but after eight years Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit are back with a tour and new album.
The original lineup, comprised of cocky frontman Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal, haven’t been together since the fall of 2001, after which Borland left the band to work on his own music. Borland did return to the band for the release of their 2004 EP The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) but then left again, after which point Limp Bizkit has been on a hiatus. In the interim, Durst has been concentrating on acting and directing.
After forming in 1994 when vocalist Fred Durst and bassist Sam Rivers began jamming together, Limp Bizkit was soon hailed the new leader of the rapcore music movement. Rivers’ cousin John Otto (drums) and Wes Borland (guitar) completed the lineup (DJ Lethal joined later on) and they began playing around the Jacksonville area in 1995. Korn bassist Fieldy caught one of their shows and later got several tattoos from Durst (a tattoo artist on the side) and the pair forged a friendship, prompting Korn to pass on Limp Bizkit’s demo tape to their producer, Ross Robinson.
After playing with the Deftones and House of Pain, Limp Bizkit signed with Flip/Interscope in 1997 and soon released their debut full-length album, Three Dollar Bill Y’All. The rap-metal outfit played high-profile gigs and appeared on MTV’s Spring Break ‘98 fashion show in the wake of their debut, but scored their big break with a spot on that summer’s Family Values Tour.
In June 1999 Limp Bizkit released their highly anticipated sophomore album Significant Other. The album debuted at number one and went on to sell over four million copies by the end of the year, largely due to the popularity of lead single “Nookie” and its corresponding music video. In early July Durst became a Senior VP at Interscope but the band’s success was soon overshadowed by negative publicity after their performance at Woodstock ‘99. While the festival was meant to capture the free-loving feeling of the original Woodstock, riots and sexual assaults changed things drastically.
During Limp Bizkit’s performance, Durst urged fans to “break stuff,” a move that was heavily criticized in light of the already-rowdy crowd and disaster that the festival turned into. Woodstock ‘99 organizers pulled the plug on Limp Bizkit’s set but the band nonetheless headlined that year’s Family Values Tour, although internal issues did plague them nonetheless.
When Napster rocked the music work in 2000, Durst became one of the most outspoken advocates of online music trading, sparking Limp Bizkit to launch a free Napster-sponsored tour that summer. That October Limp Bizkit released their third album, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. Soon after the album’s release, Borland left the lineup and the band failed to find an adequate replacement.
They released the disappointing album Results May Vary after almost three years of dormancy and then Borland returned for the EP The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1). Although a greatest hits album spanning Limp Bizkit’s career has surfaced in recent years, fans have been waiting until now for a true comeback. Limp Bizkit is slated to play a handful of international festivals this spring, including stops in Eastern Europe as well as Germany’s Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park festivals, although all dates for the band’s trip are not yet confirmed. Check out Limp Bizkit tickets to see the band make their comeback live!

As most of us already know working-out is very important for us. In todays hectic world where people dont have time to eat healthy and regular physical activities are less common, a good work-out every day is extremely important. By exercising, we not only get rid of the extra fat in our body but also make it stronger from both inside and out.
But as we all know, working out is a tedious activity which becomes even harder to continue when utter boredom takes over our mind. I mean, for how long can you just stare at the wall in front of you while walking on the treadmill and hear the annoying sounds of metal clunking in the gym. Doing the repeated routines of work out day-in and day-out can also be highly demoralizing as our brains quickly reject activities which dont stimulate our thinking process and we quickly start feeling bored from them.
But theres a perfect solution for this problem. How about going through a book while you work out? No, we are not crazy and we are also not suggesting you to hold a book in a hand while lifting weights with others. We are talking about audio books. This format of literature has completely revolutionized the book world.
Imagine listening to your favorite book on your IPod while exercising! Wont it make this tedious but extremely essential task interesting? Gone are the days when audio books used to come in those chunky cassettes and were only used by visually impaired people. Audio books are now for everyone. In todays digital age, even audio books have changed their form. They are now also available in CDs and can also be downloaded from the internet.
Audio books not only make exercising fun but it also keeps one motivated. Audio books are not like songs where you know whats going to happen next and how it will end. Audio books keep you intrigued in their narrative and compel you to imagine scenarios, places and situations.
Plus, I think most of us will agree that we tend to do better exercise when our mind is busy somewhere else. Any kind of activity starts to feel ten times more difficult if we put our full concentration into it. Audio books distract us from the exercise and we do it in a much better way. Bringing an audio book with you while exercising, is a wonderful idea also because it gives us the time to experience the magical land of books. Most of us dont have the time to take out from our busy lives to read books. So why not add books to our life? It also gives you time to catch-up on new books in the market.
Basically, audio books give us the same experience of reading a normal book but you dont have to sit at one place to enjoy them. You can improve your body with the work-out while improving your mind with the book.

Thanks to recent archaeological discoveries of musical instruments, we know that in Peru the music goes back at least 10,000 years old.
From this came the long tradition quenas the zampoas the pututos (trumpets shells) and a variety of wind instruments used in the manufacture of which materials like cane, clay, bone, horn and precious metals, and various instruments percussion.
Through contact with the West has incorporated large numbers of instruments, they have been creatively adapted to the rhythmic and tonal needs of each region. The most obvious are the many changes that have taken place in the harp, violin and guitar in the Peruvian highlands.
The meeting of the Andean west and has resulted in Peru more than 1,300 musical genres. But two of them have exceeded the regional level and have become symbols of identity in Peru: the huayno and marinera. Composed of a mixture of joy and nostalgia, the huayno has become the basis for creating new rhythms of contemporary music, with its musical structure simple and flexible.
The seafood, although gender is not a matrix like huayno has distinct variations on the coast and the mountains, and thanks to its beauty and splendid musical choreography has been widely distributed throughout the country.

In the region of the jungle is also a great variety of rhythms, dances and instruments related to its festivals and rituals, such as use of manguar (tubular stem), called “semiotic drum” because it serves to communicate messages over long distances in middle of the jungle.
